Frequently Asked Questions
- 01The Sisters’ Couch is a Black women centered mental health, wellness, and community hub in Northwest Detroit. It is a space for Black women to gather, rest, connect, learn, work, and care for their mental wellness.
- 02The space was intentionally created with the lived experiences of Black women in mind. Some events, programs, and membership opportunities are exclusively for Black women, while select rentals, workshops, and community events may be open to others.
- 03The Hub offers mental health and wellness events, educational workshops, intentional co-working opportunities, community gatherings, event space rentals, private wellness suite rentals, retail products, and membership through the Couch Collective.
- 04The Hub is not a traditional walk in coworking space. Coworking days and other opportunities to use the space are scheduled in advance. Couch Collective members must reserve their visit at least 24 hours beforehand. Same day access is not guaranteed.
- 05Children may attend approved events and rentals, but they must remain supervised by an adult at all times.
- 06The Hub is generally open Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Hours may change because of private events, scheduled programming, or rentals. Visitors should review instagram/facebook or contact us before stopping by.
- 07Upcoming events and ticket information are available on the website’s event calendar. Guests must register or purchase tickets in advance unless the event description states otherwise.
- 08Scheduled drop in co-working is $25 per person. Registration and payment must be completed in advance.
- 09Event space rentals generally begin at $150 per hour with a three hour minimum. Final pricing depends on the date, length of the event, number of guests, and type of event.
- 10Yes. Outside food, catering, and nonalcoholic drinks are permitted. Alcohol is not allowed unless otherwise approved in writing as part of the rental agreement.
- 11Rental inquiries can be submitted through the website. Once an inquiry is received, our team will follow up regarding availability, pricing, policies, and the next steps for booking.
- 12Free street parking is available near the Hub. Guests may also use the Detroit Vegan Soul parking lot when available. Guests should not park in the neighboring liquor store parking lot.
- 13The Sisters’ Couch Wellness Hub is located at 19562 Grand River Avenue, Detroit, Michigan 48223, in the North Rosedale Park community.
- 14The Couch Collective is our private membership community for Black women. Membership applications open during designated enrollment periods. Information about future enrollment opportunities should be available on the membership page and through our email newsletter.
- 15Visitors can join our email newsletter and follow The Sisters’ Couch on Instagram at @thesisters_couch for upcoming events, membership updates, programs, and announcements.
