On August 9th, we gathered for Painting & Processing: The Weight of Being a Caregiver at The Sisters’ Couch Wellness Hub.

We painted. We processed. We laughed. We shared. And most importantly, we had space to simply be in community with women who understand.

Caregiving can hold so much at once. Love, joy, responsibility, exhaustion, pride, grief, and everything in between. This gathering gave us room to make space for all of it.

It’s been a minute since I shared a behind the scenes moment with you all.

Right now, I am in the stage of sustaining my dream life. I built it. Now I am learning how to sustain it.

I keep getting asked, “What’s next?” And honestly, I am trying to be content with where I am right now.

One day, I will have a full team. One day, The Sisters’ Couch will be bigger. But right now, I am allowing myself to be present in this moment and build at a pace that keeps me healthy.

Caregiving may look like managing appointments, helping with medication, preparing meals, providing transportation, handling bills, offering personal care, or being someone’s consistent emotional support.

Kelly works with children, adolescents, and adults and brings experience from child welfare and human services. Her approach includes CBT, trauma focused CBT, DBT, positive psychology, and a systemic lens. She focuses on creating a safe, empathic, and transparent space where clients feel heard and supported as they build healthier emotional and behavioral patterns.

Founded in 2018 by Alandra Chuney Jackson, LMSW, this community was created from a desire to ensure Black women have a space where they feel seen, supported, and connected.

We are officially four days into our Wellness Hub journey, and we cannot wait to welcome more of you through our doors.
